What is The Old Chapel?
The Old Chapel is a beautiful, historic, venue for hire space specifically with funerals in mind – located in the heart of the potteries. We wanted to create a space that was not only beautiful but gave families something that they don’t have anywhere else; enough time to say a proper goodbye. Our chapel will only ever host a maximum of three funerals in a day, ensuring that you are not rushed and can give the send off your loved one truly deserves.
How does it work?
The Old Chapel is a place in which to hold a funeral or memorial service for your loved one. It gives you the time you need to say goodbye with family and friends before a burial, attended or unattended cremation service.
Frequently Asked Questions
The chapel has a car park which will accomodate up to around 15 cars. We are happy to reserve this for immediate family. There is on road parking around us and a large car park a short walk away; please contact us for more details.
Yes, we have two toilets on site; one of which is accessible.
Yes we are! There is a step to enter the building and a ramp is available. We have an accessible toilet however due to the building being over 200 years old and grade II listed, the corridor to the toilets is narrow. Please do call us if you have any questions about access.
Our standard hours are Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm however we do welcome services outside of these times, including evening and weekends. Should you wish to come and have a look around, please call us 01782438864 to book an appointment.
After your service, you are welcome to stay for tea and coffee. We can recommend local caterers if required. You can discuss this directly with us or your go through your funeral director. If you fancy something a bit stronger there is a fantastic pub next door, The Holy Inadequate.
